Our Current Pastor   (2020 - Present)

Reverend Lynne Tabb

Lynne is originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, where her father, a Lt. Col., US Army, was posted on the Rock Island Arsenal. Her first experience with religion and life-changing faith was through a Baptist Church in high school.

She attended college at the University of Northern Iowa, majoring in Office Information Systems. She got married and raised four kids, homeschooling them for about ten years and ending up in Westcliffe, Colorado in the year 2000. In the ensuing years, she got divorced and is now married to Chris, her husband of twelve years. She spent a number of years waiting tables in the Valley, working as the Administrative Assistant for Community United Methodist Church, and working at the Wet Mountain Tribune as Advertising Director and Graphic Designer.

Lynne answered her call to ministry in 2016, a call that had been quietly tugging at her for decades. She was delighted to hear that Iliff Theological Seminary in Denver had an online program and enrolled. This enabled her to continue living and working in Westcliffe while earning her Masters of Divinity degree which she completed in June of 2020. She is currently a Provisional Elder, anticipating ordination as an Elder in full connection in 2023. La Junta United Methodist Church is Lynne’s first appointment.

Lynne loves live theater, having been a part of Shakespeare in the Sangres and the Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts for several years. Her husband, Chris, founded Shakespeare in the Sangres and has encouraged Lynne in her acting and behind-the-scenes work. Through her various roles, from Olive in Odd Couple the Female Version to Goneril in King Lear, Lynne has learned a lot about life, people, and relationships. She also enjoys singing, playing the flute, and is an avid reader.
