Rev. Lou Ward
Lou Ward was born and raised in a very small town in Maine. He moved to Colorado in 2000 and attended CSU-Pueblo where he graduated in 2005 with a degree in History. He worked as a teacher for several years and transitioned to Training and Leadership Development at two businesses in Pueblo.
In 2012 Lou answered his call to ministry in a big year. He commissioned as an officer in the Army Reserves as a Chaplain Candidate with a Civil Affairs Unit at Fort Carson, began his MDiv at Iliff School of Theology, and declared his intent and started the ordination process to become an Elder in the UMC all while still working full time as a Sr. Training Manger of a global telecommunications company.
Lou left the Army Reserves for pastoral ministry in 2015-serving ¾ time at Walsenburg UMC and Trinidad UMC. Lou graduated from Iliff in 2016 and was commissioned as a provisional Elder in 2017. Lou is seeking Ordination to become an Elder in full connection at annual conference in 2019.
Lou was appointed to LJUMC in July of 2017.
Lou has been married since 2005 to Jenna, a public health nurse, and together they have two young sons: Landon and Liam. Both Landon and Liam love school, sports, and spending time outside. When not pastoring and involved with ministerial alliance activities, Lou and family enjoy travelling, golfing, camping, and spending time together.
Fun facts about Lou: He hiked the Appalachian Trail in 1998 at 18, dislikes onions, loves to snowboard and skateboard, and loves poetry.
